It was 30 October 2016, the festive feels had enveloped one and all. Everyone was gearing up for Diwali celebrations. This was the time when I started my Instagram page @foodiepediamumbai.

It's been around 4 years now.

I guess food reviewing was already a big part of me for I’ve always been a hardcore foodie, some may say, ever since childhood. I’ve always had a soft corner for everything sweet. Festivals are just incomplete without sweets. So, I guess that's when I started loving food even more.

I used to write reviews for restaurants on various sites and applications, earlier. Although not so frequently.

Back in my college days me and some of my foodie friends used to explore new food spaces, click pictures and tell our other friends about these new food hubs. That was the time when my friends suggested “why don’t you start writing reviews of these places? On a larger platform.” and that’s how it all started

Back in 2016, the blogging world was very new, especially food blogging. For me, I was still exploring a lot of new things. Learning this craft was like improvising the camera angles for a perfect picture. Along the way, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some abundantly talented folks and some amazing souls.

There were no hurdles as such but yes sometimes the negative comments on my food posts used to demotivate me.

But I chose to not take them to heart and instead soldiered on.

Social media is the best platform to showcase your talent and make a business out of it. Food blogging inspires and helps people understand an overall experience of a specific restaurant, cafe, or any food joint. So, I feel food blogging can be a great career choice for all those dreamy-eyed foodies wandering about eating joints with a clan of their own.
